Foreshore Restoration
Project Manukau's foreshore restoration programe, and the provision of nesting facilities for seabirds, is a fine example of a major utility development having a positive effect on the surrounding natural environment.

Trees for Survival
Watercare has committed $15,000 to the Trees for Survival programme. The initiative involves supplying schools within the Wairoa River catchment area with resources to plant trees and to educate students on the relationship between the forest and the catchment environment. Growing units will be established at Hunua, Paparimu, Ararimu, Ardmore and Clevedon Schools.
